The cover is really attractive and eye-catching. Bright and colourful, filled with happy vibes, forcing the attention towards itself. After reading the book I loved the cover even more because of it's significance to the story.
The story takes place in a coffee shop, Green bean. Alana and Harry are the protagonists of the story. Both of their personalities are similar in several ways. They are both introverts, and both of them have dreams with no hopes of achieving them.
"Welcome to New York" tells about the lives of Harry and Alana. It tells about their regrets, fears, hopes and their dreams. It is a clean romance. Anyone interested in the concept of true love should read it. 
The character development was fantastic. I loved the plot. The book was a little long for me, but the story and the characters kept me hooked. The author maintained a sense of mystery around certain aspects of the character's lives which was revealed in due time and made the reading experience better.

"Life after eighteen sucks"... Dennis Leary once said, and I'd amend that slightly to also include " life before eighteen as well".
The story takes place in a typical High School (East Slade), where everyone is stereotyped in their roles and personalities. Dan (a geek) and Tom (a smart kid) are best friends and a part of their two-member basement band. When a Battle of the Bands is announced at school Dan want to take part, but Tom doesn't because they don't have a lead guitarist and a drummer. This is where the other characters are introduced, Marcel "Mark", a football star and Jacoby (a weird foreign exchange student). Together they make a band called "The Stereotypical Freaks". Because they are stereotyped at school and freaks because they are not what their labels dictate.
"These labels don't define us"
When one of the members reveals a life-changing secret, winning the competition takes on a whole new meaning.
I LOVED the book. It was a normal life comic about four teenagers who are sensitive and are not afraid to show it. When I started to read this book, I thought it would be a fun quick read. I was wrong. I was happy everyone got what they wanted at the end, but it was an emotional journey, for the characters in the book as well as the readers. It was a different kind of comic than I usually read, but it was exceptional in its own way.

Hope is what keeps the world alive.

Shattered by A.K MacBride is a story about diminished hopes and dreams. About people who believe they are too broken for someone else. 
Harper ran away from her abusive husband when she was pregnant. And now, six years later she is still afraid he will find her and doesn’t stay at the same place for more than a few months. But Willow Creek is different. She likes it here, has a real friend who cares about her and a neighbor who is hell bent on dating her. 
 Logan yearns for a family he can’t have. But after seeing Harper and her son, his desire skyrockets. He wants her, and she creates a safe distance from him. 
I liked the story. There was emotion, there was love and a cute kid. The kid stole all the limelight. It was adorable how he looked up to Logan and how Logan behaved when he was with him. The other characters were blurred for me. Logan’s brother was the only one with a lasting effect. 
This was a one-time well-worth read for me.

I finished THE WICKED KING! Review will come today. ...So, I have not read the first book and some things were confusing. I had to guess, a lot! It does look like I'm writing a review but I'm NOt. 

One last thing. I don't think there is anyone here who hasn't at least seen the cover of the wicked king but if you haven't, here you go!!!   

"Mother of the chosen" by Janeal Falor is a dystopian fantasy following Adriella's journey as she travels on foot through the whole of Erta to save her unborn child.
Adriella is pregnant after she and her husband, Richart have been trying for some years. She can't wait to tell her husband. But when a prophecy is made that a child born with a symbol of star on him/her will kill and end the rule of High King, He orders zasins (soldiers) to bring every child up till two and pregnant women from every part of Erta to the castle so they can kill and eradicate the threat to the king. Adriella is afraid that her husband, who is a zasin will turn her in and plans with her friend to run away.
The story continues as Adriella with her friends escape into the Umpi forest, which is a home to many beings, and live there battling different creatures; the creatures they only heard about in stories.
Filled with adventure, friendship, a game of survival and a dash of romance, (They lived together for FOUR years and didn't know about each other, and now after less than nine months, there is love between them!? The love which suddenly disappeared, which he knew about her magic, even when he himself was associated with dragons.) this was one of the "couldn't-put-it-down" books. Though I feel it would have been better if the magic element was further explored, but maybe this is different in the next book *one can hope*. The cliffhanger was amazing but again, it would be better if the title of the book was something else, something less revealing. The map was a huge help. I was just going back and forth whenever a new place was mentioned. It made the whole reading experience much more memorable. I am probably going to read the next book too, so it has definitely hooked me.

A collection of wonderfully drawn and brightly colored comics setting new goals for relationships. Purfect for all cat lovers and pizza lovers (which, I hope includes everyone), people in relationships, comic lovers, life lovers, world lovers, oh and space lovers too! (...did I miss anything?) . At the end some comic strips by Sarah are shown which were made a few years back along with their redrawings which greatly indicate how her style has bloomed and flourished.
It was a lovely read. I tried to focus more on details after Sarah pointed out how it should be done in one of a comic strip. 

After reading the book, I have been more worried about my cat. She doesn't fart (at least I haven't seen her do so), so is it a bad thing or good. I am really horrified to think that her cat poops on the bed. If my cat did that, my mother would throw both of us out of the house!

Now I am starting to think it is less of a review and more of a "I love my cat but she's annoying" kind of post. I should stop...!

My second post!!

Feral is for all paranormal fans (including me). Some magical creatures that were introduced in the book, I knew nothing about. Light- elf and dark-elf especially. Would love to see books entirely focused on them. The concept is amazing!

Feral by Lucretia Stanhope is an exceedingly enthralling, beautifully written book. It is a paranormal fantasy about Alice, part light-elf and part-witch, a hybrid; which are considered illegal. When Alice is given her first mission, she has her mind made to escape and run away.
Amarok is assigned a new partner after the death of his previous one, Mark (I haven't read the first book of the series, so I don't know if this is explained there). They both have to pretend to be a mated couple as a cover up and investigate the disappearance of three wolves from a pack. 
The first half of the book was okay, but the second half, where the mystery actually starts to unravel was totally gripping. I was suspicious of every character I came across. But the thing which was just ughh (my emotions!) to me was that after the mystery ended, there was another bigger one knocking on the doorsteps AND I CAN't READ IT! 
Anxiously waiting for the next book *please don't let it be a love triangle*

This is my first post on BookLikes. Hope I have a pleasant journey ahead. I want to ramble but at the same time I don't want to ramble.... Sooo, here's the review!

I think the situation with the parents will be relatable to 90% of the readers. It was a slow paced romance in an artistic circle.
"If You Love Me, I'm Yours" by Lizzie Chantree is about a painter, Maud, who has been looking for her parent's appreciation for her art throughout her life, but hasn't been successful yet. Due to this, she has no confidence in her skill. Her life changes direction when Dot comes into her life, who is in a similar situation with her parents (as she thinks). Dot's brother Nate, who is a well-known artist is still captured in the past due to a horrific incident.
All these characters had to work on themselves. Everyone of them had flaws and negative emotions and had to overcome them. 
There were some instances where there was less showing and more telling. Other than that, I liked the book. It was heartwarming and I was engaged in the characters lives.
